This guide helps owners of Home Medix HM-CV-20 and HM-BV-30 organise routine care of the supplied equipment. Use the instructions for your exact device, mask, tube and water tank. Care guidance does not change the prescribed mode, pressure or other treatment settings.

Identify the parts before cleaning

Keep the device and its electrical supply separate from removable accessories. Check the model labels and the current instructions, especially if a mask, hose, filter or water tank has been replaced. Similar-looking parts can have different cleaning methods. Confirm which filter type is fitted before attempting to wash or replace it.

Before handling the equipment

Finish the session according to your care team’s plan and the device instructions. Disconnect the electrical supply before cleaning the device. Allow heated parts to cool as directed. Never immerse the powered device, power adapter or electrical connections in water. Keep liquid away from the device interior.

Mask and headgear

Follow the cleaning directions supplied with the exact mask. Separate only the parts the instructions permit you to remove. Use the specified cleaning method, rinse where directed and allow the parts to dry before reassembly. Inspect the cushion, straps, clips and exhaust arrangement. Do not seal vents or improvise a replacement elbow or valve.

Tube, water tank and outer casing

Remove the breathing tube from the device and mask before cleaning it as instructed, and check that it is dry before reuse. Look for cracks, damage and trapped moisture. Empty the humidifier tank before transporting or storing the device. Follow the supplied water and cleaning instructions; keep the heater and electrical parts out of the wash water. Wipe the casing only as directed and reconnect power once it is completely dry.

Filter care needs the exact filter instructions

A washable filter and a replace-only filter need different care. Ask Home Medix to identify the filter fitted to your current HM-CV-20 or HM-BV-30 and confirm its instructions before washing it. Keep a wet or damaged filter out of service and ask the team for the appropriate replacement or care route. This page gives no universal washing method or replacement interval.

Cleaning products and automated cleaners

Use only methods and products permitted by the instructions for the component. Do not assume that alcohol, bleach, solvents, fragranced products or an ozone/UV cleaner are suitable. The FDA advises following the equipment manufacturer’s cleaning instructions and warns that ozone and UV devices can damage PAP accessories; an additional cleaner does not replace the recommended cleaning process.
